Some of you might know that just recently some select US theaters got to see the Death Note: L Change the World live action flick. Without giving anything away, the movie is a different take on the ending of the series than how the manga or the anime concluded and for the most part, many fans enjoyed all three Death Note Live action movies. One cry from the fans I have heard is the fact that the movies were dubbed for the english and other audiances. Granted, at least for the english dubbing, it was the same group of talented voice actors behind the anime.
Personally I feel that dubbing any live action cheapens flicks and downplays the actors in any foreign film...plus just looks plain silly... but the acting was very good nonetheless.
I was given the attention of one site, http://www.mtviggy.com/, that did a great job going over the Death Note Movies, so if you want to check out more on these movies check out these links below.

This is obviously for US readers only and for people who can make it to the showing on the 15th & 16th. Like the first movie, this one is in select theaters only so here is a list of them for your reference. The rules are simple, just make relevant comments on any of my blog posts here and you might be randomly chosen. Me and Fathom Events and Ignite Social Media need to be able to contact you so please try not to leave anonymous comments. Be sure to use a Live ID or blogger account that has some sort of access to your email or simple leave it there on your comment.
To not much of a surprise, it seems that the live action version of Death Note is gaining some ground here in the US. Recently 300 theaters throughout the country showed for a few days the first movie of the three already made to date. A total of 65,000+ viewers came to watch as per The Varity Japan and Anime News Network. This was so much great news for the series that as now the second movie will also get the same treatment in the coming months and be sent out to limited theaters again.
In a related note, the Bleach 1st Movie is currently being shown in the theaters and I won't put it past them that that one will also get record viewings for its limited showing.
Yet more proof that anime is strong and continuing to grow in America. Plus, I'm pretty certain that in the near future we will see more anime shown in ALL theaters; not just these limited showings. (Much like Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle was.)
